SCRAM! Mission Statement: Uniting the residents of a Silver Lake neighborhood against the misuse of a residential property for commercial purposes.

New residents are happily at home. 800 Silver Lake, like the rest of our neighborhood remains entirely residential!
Latest Update - click on headline
SCRAM! (Silver Lake Community Residents Against Misuse) was established to raise awareness about a zoning violation in our beautiful neighborhood of Silver Lake!

Currently, the property located at 800 Silver Lake Boulevard is targeted for conversion from a residential artist loft to a commercial business. The transformation of a beautiful, lovingly restored home is in direct violation of existing local and city zoning ordinances, and was undertaken without first consulting zoning authorities.

Zoning Administrator's Hearing Held - June 13!
At the June 13th hearing the Zoning Administrator Lourdes Green indicated she had read everything in the file. That would include 43 previously submitted letters from residents close by 800 Silver Lake Blvd. as well as the neighbors' petition of 319 signatures. An additional three letters and 7 signatures were turned in at the hearing.
Congratulations to all the neighborhood attendees and to the 15 who spoke in opposition to the variance requests! Excellent work!
Rusty Millar from the Governing Board of the Neighborhood Council represented that our 326 petition signatures are equivalent to 65% of those voting in the last Neighborhood Council election. Good job! to those who stepped forward to sign the petiton and let's get ready to vote in the next Neighborhood Council election. The election may be as early as April 2014.
What's Next?
We gathered to acknowledge the efforts and celebrate the individual achievements of members of our neighborhood.
We will gather together again to mark the Zoning Administrator's decision and commemorate our totally residential neighborhood. Then, we will make merry and appreciate our neighbors and our neighborhood.
